rszbloggertagalogoh1 Edited: Blogger.com Now In Tagalog, But Do We Really Need it?

BloggerBuzz has just announced that Blogger.com is now available in “Filipino”.

“There is already a very strong blogging community in the Philippines, and we’re very happy to support that and be a part of it.”

True enough, every word on Blogger.com that can be translated is written in Tagalog.

I think that such a feature is a very good move to cater to the growing population of Filipino bloggers. However, a particular non-blogger friend of mine thinks otherwise.

He told me that it was a waste of time in the part of Blogger.com because Pinoys won’t even bother switching to the Tagalog version when the English version is much easier to understand.

“I mean, it is already common knowledge nowadays that the internet-literate Pinoys are good, or at least have an understanding, when it comes to the English language,” my friend defended. “Who would even use the tagalog version?”

Which made me wonder, has any even switched to the Tagalog version? Personally, I prefer the English version. But that’s me because I’m more comfortable with English. Share your opinions below.

Check out blogger now and try the tagalog version!

Happy blogging!

Blogger in Filipino is great for those who are already comfortable in English, that is if they are intellectually adventurous enough to leave their comfort zone.

May I say also that the Filipino language is the language also of intellectuals, sosyals and educated masses as well as the so-called “great unwashed”.

Journeyist’s last blog post..FALSE RELIGION IS BULLSHIT !!!
