The internet has become a place of opportunity in making money and blogging is no exception. Everyday thousands of people build their own blogs thinking that they could easily earn money through blogging. They’ll find out too late that it would take them half a year for their blogs just to get past the $1 dollar mark.

Personally, I really don’t think that there is anything wrong with earning money from blogging. It is much like a bonus that a blogger can earn from doing what he loves to do. However, there is an alarming number of blogs who greatly focuses in earning money that they forget the real essence of blogging.

The two basic types of bloggers. One is after self-expression, while the other is in it for the money

In hopes of making easy money, a lot of blog owners carelessly fill their blogs with ads covering all their content. You’ll have to go through all those annoying ads, popups, and interstitial ads just to read a little snippet of what happened to them on that day. I also know of some bloggers who posts sponsored articles almost everyday. If you would sort through their archives you can’t see anything but sponsored posts. What happens is that these types of blogs loses their true purpose as a mode of expression and totally becomes a tool for earning money.

Although they do have the right to do anything to their blogs, they must also think of balancing earning money and making content. Think about it, without content you’ll eventually lose your readers and reduce the earning capability of your blog.

Earning money from blogs is somewhat an added bonus for us, some sort of incentive for us to keep on blogging. However, we should keep in mind that we earn more things from blogging aside from money. There are more important things like experience, friends, and the privilege to speak and be heard. Things that no money can buy.
