[Warning: Quick rant mode. Just want to explain why I was gone for so long]

PinoyBlogero.com - Blogging Hiatus

I bet you guys were wondering where I have gone to over the past 20 days. Well, to put it simply, I took some time off to give myself some breathing space from all the pressures of being a full-time student-blogger. You know, a mini-vacation away from blogging.

During the four months of running PinoyBlogero.com, I always felt stressed everytime I finish up for the day. Focusing on the Pinoy blogosphere is no joke. I have to be on the constant look-out for news to share to my readers by sifting through the long list of blogs that I follow on my feed reader, I need to visit and advertise my blog to others, I need to answer to queries on e-mails, and to top all that, I also need to create a customized image to go along with my posts for added interest-catching effect.

Of course, my blogging life wasn’t really supposed to be this tiring. Heck, I should making a personal blog right now and rant about anything that comes into mind. But then again, posting here in PinoyBlogero is a duty that I feel I am obligated to do. It’s a responsibility that I have imposed on myself as my contribution to the growing Filipino blogging community. Plus, in spite of the stress and criticisms, blogging here is fun.

As expected, my blog’s visitors and readership dropped considerably low as a consequence of my days of absence. Still, I think it was all worth it. I got the long-deserved rest that I have been longing for months. I finally got to watch the Family Guy series and tire my eyes out playing Ragnarok Valkyrie for hours.

I guess bloggers, just like any other type of people, do get stressed every once in a while. Writing is not easy. Especially, if you need to come up with content on a consistent basis! We are also entitled to take a vacation and think about other stuffs aside from feed readers, comment numbers and earnings.

So if you are feeling a little stressed out, why not go on a short blogging hiatus. You know what they say, all work and no play makes bloggers dull and uninteresting.

So now that I am finally back, expect more articles soon and don’t forget to wait for the announcement of the winner for the Pinoy Blog of the Month contest on November 3! (Sorry, we are still judging the nominees. Plus, it’s a holiday on Nov 1 and 2.)

Happy blogging!
