Wondering why most of your visitors aren’t leaving comments on your posts? You’ve already squeezed out all your creative juices and missed your favorite Koreanovelas just to concentrate on an entry only to find out that they end up with only a few comments by the end of the day.
Are you doing something wrong? Or is it because people are just too lazy to leave a comment?
We must consider the fact that people don’t really have a lot of time to spend reading articles and creating comments. Thinking of something to comment takes up time and some thinking, which is why most of them decide not to comment at all. Even if they do have the time, depending on how you have made your article, there are times that people don’t know how they will react to your post.
So, how can one increase the number of people that comment on a blog? There are many ways but there is one quick method that I do here in Pinoy Blogero that is quite effective.
Leaving a question
As bloggers we could make things easier for them by giving them a question. This is a question that is related to your post’s topic in which your readers could ponder on. It encourages comments because it will be easier for them to react simply by answering the given question.
You could find many examples of this method here in Pinoy Blogero, here are some examples:
-
The Two Basic Types of Pinoy Bloggers.
“Which one of these two are you? Can you think of any other types of bloggers? Why not leave a comment below and share your thoughts?â€
12 Job Requirements in Blogging.
“So, were you able to determine if you are cut out to be a blogger? Are there any more job requirements a blogger should meet? Share your thoughts and comment below.â€
Misconceptions of Some Pinoys on the World of Blogging
“Do you have any other misconceptions about blogging before you started? Do you have anything more to add? Share your thoughts by leaving a comment below.â€
With the given examples above, one could be able to answer some of the questions as long as they have read the articles. Guide questions can be placed anywhere on an article. However, the most ideal position for it to be placed is at the end or at the clincher of a post.
You don’t necessarily need to ask everything about your article. Just one or two questions would suffice. Once you have given them an idea to react about, they will be able to react on other matters as well.
Don’t use simple phrases like “Do you have anything more to react?†try to be more specific. Use a phrase that is similar to this, “Does Pinoy Blogero look handsome? Do you think he can make it as a TV personality?†This would make it much easier for your readers to leave a comment.
Well, that’s about it. It’s really quite simple. Hope this post has helped you!
Happy Blogging!

Right on! You treat blogging as a conversation rather than a monologue. Minsan common sense lang kapag inisip pero minsan hindi maiwasan na ma-overlook ng mga tao. Great advice!
Btw, bakit parang kamukha ni Urashima Keitaro (Love Hina) si Pinoy Blogero?

winner talaga ang articles mo!
napansin ko rin na people tend to comment if what you write strikes some sort of chord in them. like if you write about things you’ve experienced and they’ve undergone the same thing, they feel compelled to share their two cents’ worth. but yup, a lot of readers are usually lazy on commenting. i used to be too, when i first started out, kasi i wasn’t sure what was apropos ano what was not. haahah!
thank you for these articles, they really help!

This is another classic information. Cheers mate. I wish someone leaves more comment on my site. That will encourage me more to blog.
