It may sound rude but your list of items is a bit biased. It’s the exact same things we could find in your blog’s above-the-fold area.

However, some if not most of the big probloggers do the reverse and put most of the items in your list below-the-fold of their blogs. Exceptions are ads, subscription options, blog header (name, description etc)

Why? Because majority of traffic comes from organic search engine results, meaning they came to our blogs because the search engines told them that we have what they were looking for (most of the time) and so it’s important to give it to them immediately once they click that link on the SERP of Google or yahoo! because if not, they loose interest and hit the back button.

Lost opportunity for us because we gave them items that were the least of their priorities. This line of thinking is based on the ‘content-is-king’ principle and if you look closely at the blog designs of Problogger, JohnChow.com, CopyBlogger, even Yuga, they all follow this principle. Give the readrs what they came for in the first place, which is good content. Sell our selves and our blogs after wards because our good content would’ve done it for us to begin with.

But hey, this is just another look at it. Those were good tips none the less.

You can place your feed subscription numbers, page rank, blog rankings, and site counters. When people see that you have high rankings, it gives them the impression that you have a blog that is worth reading because other people are reading too.

Pero yung iba, first impression yung rankings, kahit pangit ang blog, basta nakita, wow dami nag babasa! ano kayang laman ng PANGIT na blog na to? hehehe
