This is an article under the “Breaking the Writer’s Block” post series. This series seeks to help bloggers in overcoming writer’s block. Check out the previous article, Let Your Thoughts Flow - Breaking the Writer’s Block.

So you were creating a post for your blog. You have the main idea stuck on the back of your head. You start to type, placing down each word and idea one by one as dictated by your mind. You are almost sure that you’re going to finish it by bedtime when suddenly, your hands stopped typing. You try to move on but you can’t seem to get to the next paragraph. You bang your head on your computer monitor but it was only blood that keeps on gushing out (aray). You scream in frustration at your misfortune. Yes. Writer’s block has struck once again.
That Pesky Writer’s Block
Probably one reason why many people experience writers block is because they quickly run out of ideas. Sometimes we tend to encounter a gap in ideas, this gap makes it hard for us to connect the two edges of our ideas to have that smooth flow.
So how can we overcome this? There are a lot of ways, one thing that you can do is to look for an idea from other things aside from your mind.
Look for an Inspiration
With all the things that our minds need to think about, there are times that it is in need of a little push to get the right gears to move. This push can come from a little dash of inspiration.
There are many places where one can get ideas. It could be anywhere. Sometimes it depends on the topic you are writing about. Sometimes inspiration can come from the most unlikely thing.
While making this article, I had a mild writer’s block in looking for an idea to write about. What I did was I thought of my own experience in having and overcoming my own writer’s block. From this experience, all the ideas started pouring in.
Sometimes it is also a good move to read other people’s work that is related to your topic. Try to listen to their own side of the topic. Answer their questions. React to their ideas. Use these as the base for you own ideas.
There are many ways where you could get an inspiration for your articles. All you have to do is to be on the lookout for it. Once you catch a glimpse of an inspiration, put it down on paper while you can. Let’s see if that pesky writer’s block can stop you now.
Have you ever experienced writer’s block? I’m sure you have. Why not share your experiences and how you manage to overcome them here.
