Confirmed: Annalyn Jusay from Annalyn.net had confirmation from Manila Standard news sources itself about the said issue. “While Malu Fernandez indeed has submitted her resignation, her resignation has not been accepted by higher management, hence we will continue publishing her column.” [source]

Update (August29): The people at Freedom Watch has also started their investigation about the said issue. It seems that their speculation is the same as mine. They even have pictures of the actual newspaper dated August 27, 2007. Check it out here!

Malu Fernandez will be back! Well at least that’s what the picture below says.

maluisbackka5 Malu Fernandez Returns? What Happened to the Resignation Papers?

I found the image posted on Lovefool’s blog. Based on the picture, it seems that Malu Fernandez will resume her post as a column writer in Manila Standard Today this coming Monday.

Is this true? What ever happened to her resignation?

If we could recall the events that has happened over the past few days, we could remember that Malu Fernandez was forced to resign because of the ruckus brought about by her article which contains a number a number of insulting comments about OFWs.

The said announcement above hasn’t been verified yet. For all we know, it might be taken from an old issue of Manila Standard or just a hoax to fan the already dying flames. We are still trying to verify if the said picture is genuine. I’ll update this post as soon as I receive any confirmation.

If this really were true, then we could expect another chapter in the Malu Fernandez issue.

in case not every one knows, she’s said to be the “aunt” of a senator and that’s sen. migz “daya-na” (?) zubiri for you. she’s obviously referring to him in her column responding to the attacks on her prior to her resignation. she’s sister to the vicky zubiri. well, now that she’s back, one would wonder, is “cheating” also runs in her family? hehehehe just asking!

im sure, had she written her piece during the campaign period, i think she won’t be talking of “politicians in my family” in her column, as that would leave her, her bro-in-law, migz’ dad in the “business”. hehehe
