As a person who regularly checks my blog’s statistics and rankings every morning. It didn’t took much of a second glimpse for me to notice a sudden change on Pinoy Blogero’s Ratified Rank.
From a previous rank of 125, Pinoy Blogero instantly plummented behind the ranks at 322. Almost 200 ranks behind the original rank! This had me alarmed because I was really aiming for my blog to reach the top 100 of the said rankings. I checked out other blogs and almost all of them have the same problem.

What could have caused the change?
After some research, I found out that Ratified.org has undergone a minor reconstruction. Not anymore is Ratified dictated by Technorati authority alone because the PageRank and Feed Subscriptions are now added to the algorithm changing the way how Ratified ranks blogs.
If you would look at the top 100, you would notice that the ones that are now on the list are the blogs that have a high PageRank and a considerable amount of feed subscriptions. The rankings are now more believable and more accurate than the previous list because I really think that PageRanks and Feed subscriptions weigh more than the number of links that are directed to a blog.
Although links are indeed essential in determining a blog’s growth, they are relatively easy to acquire especially with link trains and other syndication forms that are plaguing the blogosphere today. Pagerank and Feed subscriptions, on the other hand, would take time and a wide base of loyal readers.
So, instead of gathering lots of links from blogs, you will now actually need to concentrate more on increasing your PageRank and Feed Subscriptions by dishing out quality content that your visitors will read and love. Hey, isn’t that what a blog’s growth is really about?
More power to Ratified.org and to all Pinoy blogs who are seeking to improve and share their ideas all throughout the blogosphere!
Happy blogging!

Mine too plummeted the same way. I was even shocked because my Technorati ranking went up this week. Either way, plummeting a rank motivates you to make every post worth reading.

I used to check my stats every half hour haha. Rank is important sure, but not as important as loving what you do. You know, I was actually wondering what happened to the ranking too. Then I read this post. Thanks buddy.
