It’s Sunday once again and I am here to lay out a number of interesting highlights and must-read posts that has happened in the Pinoy blogosphere during the past two weeks (I didn’t get the chance to do a recap last week).
- LATEST:Â A video clip of a suspected anomaly on the new segment of a Wowowee is circulating around the blogosphere lately. Is Wowowee fooling us all? I knew it!
- The recent ruckus over a string of controversial issues that sparked a number of blog wars during the first half of the month has finally subsided. The Top 10 Emerging Influential Blog Issue has already been forgotten, Noemi has already offered a public apology to Carl Ocab, and Jayvee has also made amends with Janette Toral.
- Just when the blog wars has finally died down, Malu Fernandez steps in and stirs up a sense of patriotism amongst those who believe in respect in one’s own race all thanks to her controversial article about OFWs. The said article caused quite an uproar over the past which led people calling for her resignation.
- A week later, Malu Fernandez was forced to resign from her editorship position at Manila Standard Today and give out a public apology after receiving a number of concerned comments and some death threats (yes, death threats) from a number of angry members of the blogosphere.
- An Australian version of Ratified.org has already been released on their part of the blogosphere. Things are looking up for Andrew Dela Serna.
- The Blog and Soul Movement was officially launched along with the opening of Mrs. Field’s Cookie Cafe at UN Avenue, Manila Pavilion Building, last August 21, 2007. A number of bloggers attended the said event (syempre, di ako pahuhuli kaya sumama ako). We heard Jayvee’s talk about his vision about the project and indulged ourselves over free food and lots of sweet and yummy cookies.
- The winners of the SM Hypermarket were announced in the Second Taste Asia Blogger Meet-up which has garnered over 300+ attendees, the highest number of attendance of bloggers to date! The event was held at SM Mall of Asia’s Taste Asia Restaurant last August 23, 2007.
- A number of Pinoy blogspot owners has experiencing problems with their accounts over the past few days because of the downtimes experience by the Google Servers. The problems were quickly resolved thanks to the quick response made by Google.
- The voting period for the Wika2007 which started last August 20 has already ended on August 25. In spite of voting criteria issues, the organizers of the contest still continued with the voting and will be announcing the winners on September 1.
Have a great weekend! Wait for my new article tomorrow! Happy blogging!
