Quick blog tip: Creating your blogging schedule

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you may have notice that I always try to post something new every single day. With this much commitment, you may be thinking that I don’t have any more time left for other important things that a normal college student should have.

But in fact, I do.

I do this by making my very own personalized blogging schedule. This is to ensure that I could effectively budget my time and maximize all my time in doing more work.

Laying it all out
First, I lay out all my non-blogging activities that I have for the day on a sheet of paper with its corresponding schedules. I then lay out my blogging related activities and try to squeeze them into the free slots that can be found within the time table.

The first blogging related activities that I insert into the schedule are the ones that are of high priority. With this in mind, I label all those activities according to its priority.

  • Posting of articles (Very high)
  • Making a new article for the next day (Very high)
  • Visiting other blogs and establishing connections (high)
  • Repying to comments (high)
  • Promoting Pinoy Blogero to other blogs (medium)
  • Making a new artwork (medium)
  • Checking site stats (low)
  • Checking the mail (low)
  • Creating a feed button (low)
  • Eating, sleeping, thinking of school (very low)
  • By breaking down my activities into different priorities, I don’t have to worry about not being able to do the important ones if ever I ran out of time. In my case, even if I only have an hour of free time, at least I could allot that time to the most important one which is posting of a new article.

    There are other methods that I do in order for me to effectively use my time. I’ll try to cover these soon. For now, I hope you have learned some simple and basic techniques in effectively managing your blogging time.

      as for me, i’m not that organized. I don’t know when i’m going to have a new post but usually i do it every friday night, saturday, and sunday.

      and yes, i also have a bookmark of blogs in my browser.
