This week marks the official start of classes here in the Philippines and as much as we hate to accept it, it is time once again for us to don those already faded school uniforms for yet another long and tiring school year.
Everyone knows that as soon as we step onto the cold cemented floors of our classrooms, we subject ourselves to a life that is filled with responsibilities, sacrifice, hardships, and self-punishment.
With this kind of lifestyle, the average student can not afford to have any distractions. Still, I doubt that that anyone would stop from blogging just because school is here. Many of us may still continue with what we do and try to squeeze schooling into our already tight blogging schedules.

The student blogger
Perhaps dealing with studies and blogging would be easy for those who only blog once a month or to those who just blog only for the heck of it. This is a problem that concerns those who are serious in blogging, like the ones who are aiming to get to the top of the blogosphere ladder and the ones who are making money out of their blogs.
From the creation of posts, management of comments, mingling with readers, networking with other bloggers, and all the other activities associated with blogging, it would take more than just leftover time from school to do all these things.
Student or blogger
Still think you can manage blogging and schooling at the same time? Yes, I think it is possible. However, it can only be done at the expense of quality.
It is already a proven fact that the mind can only be at one place at the same time. This is why multitasking is not very effective. You may be saving time by doing two things at one time, but the downside to this is that the quality on one of them will be much less than the other.
On the case of the student blogger, it is either we have less focus on our blogging or face the consequence of having a number of dwindling grades by the end of the term.
Student over blogger
This leads us to the question, “Where should we focus on? On blogging or schooling?†Don’t mind asking your parents, you will be grounded for sure just by thinking about it.
Perhaps it is common sense that will tell us to go with the latter. Remember, we must always prioritize our studies first because it would be our assurance that we will have a better future. Sure, blogging can earn you money, fame, and a lot of spam, but it doesn’t weigh as much compared to having a hard-earned degree and a job.
As students, we must always know our priorities. We can blog all we want but we must not let it interfere with our studies. Take it from the guy who focused more on blogging and later faced with the consequences of his actions.
Are you a student blogger? Are you having a hard time with all the work that needs to be done? Why not share your own experiences and comment below!

Studying and finding extra income at the same time is always hard. It’s very similar to being a working student in the school’s cafeteria. You always have plenty of distractions to concentrate from your studies. But then it all boils down to choosing your priorities, proper planning and well…time management.
